Propose a new club

Got a club idea that doesn’t exist yet? Pitch it here—if it goes nowhere, you lose nothing.

You can add a temporary club. Want to spend 10 meetings doing art and then stop? That's fine too.

How does it work?

  • Set up a proposed club here saying what you want to do, where you want it to be (you don't need an exact place), and when you want it to run.
  • Specify how many people you need to join to make it worth it.
  • Set a founding day. This is the cutoff date for checking whether you have enough interest. (The next "Club Founding Day" cut off is 22:00 on Mon 20/04/2026).
  • Use the tools we provide to advertise your club online and offline and manage incoming requests to join.
  • The day after the "founding day" you will find out if you have gained enough support to found your club ( this is because people may decide to sign up for more than club).
  • If the club founds, congratulations! You've got a shiny new club, which you can manage (members, fees, admin and more) through the site!
  • If not, at least you haven't had to organise anything upfront, and you can always try again!
Please choose a name that includes both what you do and where you will be based.

Please pick a category for your club

Feel free to contact us if you think we should add more here.

Membership Requirements

Here we ask who can be members of your club. These numbers are all in addition to you, the founder.

We require that "leaders" also be adults. So if you set the Minimum adults to "2" and leaders to "1" your club will require at least 2 adults one of which has said they will help as a leader.

In the UK if you have 25 or more members in total you are subject to the Equality Act and your rules and policies must be non-discriminatory toward the "protected characteristics", which are: disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race – this includes ethnic or national origins, colour and nationality, religion or belief – this includes lack of belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

If you want to read more, the government have a » Quickstart Guide for Private Clubs and Other Associations, which we think is pretty good, and a clear read.

If your club is going to be less than 25 people in total the leaflet above says the act doesn't apply.

You need 3 leaders for it to be a real club. A Secretary, a Chairperson and a Treasurer. They all need to be adults.
Member information

When a user asks to join your club we ask them for permission to give you their personal information. Here you can decide what additional information you will need for your club.

Think about this carefully. If you don't need information, don't collect it. It's just a headache. You can change this later, but it will only work for new members.

This is the information you will get as a minimum:

  • The name of the User using the site.
  • The name of the Person the application to your club is for.
  • An email address to contact the User.
  • The relation between the user and the person in the application.

Note: Club launchpad allows people who operate the site ("Users") to manage more than one person. For example a Mother could manage details for her children. So we have a distinction between the "User" and the "Person" who is the "Member".

If you mark these as YES and the user doesn't agree you won't get them as a member. Choose "Eventually" instead to simply indicate you will ask for this information in person later.
